ShortWaveLight™ Product Update

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

Prototypes are Ready for CES....

Since we announced a multimillion-dollar licensing deal last October that provided funding to turbocharge our R&D and production, we have gone into overdrive to finish development of our ShortWaveLight™ Emitter and ShortWaveLight™ Purifier products. Now we are happy to report that we will be demonstrating prototypes of both the purifier and emitter at the CES 2022 consumer electronics show in Las Vegas during the first week of January. And we are on track to finish development in the first half of the year, with production and delivery of our products starting in the second half of 2022.

Customers who pre-ordered the ShortWaveLight™ Purifier and have been waiting patiently for word on delivery know we were not able to ship it in 2021 as we originally intended. Our R&D resources have been stretched thin during the pandemic, with slower hiring, equipment acquisition, and production than planned. But recent technical breakthroughs in our labs have made us confident we will deliver a ShortWaveLight™ Purifier that meets or exceeds our original performance expectations for protection of your personal air space in 2022. At the same time, we have been very busy working with manufacturers who have already acquired early prototypes of the ShortWaveLight™ Emitter through our Evaluation Kit Program to start developing many other disinfection products that they can sell to their customers. Purifier Price Increase Coming Since we announced our unique technology a year ago, we have made great strides toward delivery of the world’s first solid-state source of far-UVC disinfecting light. And the waves of Covid variants in 2021 have only made the long-term need for far-UVC disinfection clearer and more compelling. We continue to experience strong interest from consumers willing to pay more than $199 for the world’s only personal far-UVC air- and surface purifier, and we believe a higher price is justified based on the unique far-UVC protection our product will offer. Therefore, on January 1, 2022, we will increase the price of the ShortWaveLight™ Purifier to $499. We are honoring the original $199 price for all customers who pre-ordered with a 10% deposit. And any other customers who pre-order before the January 1 price increase also will only pay the original lower price. Visit us at CES 2022 Meanwhile, if you are venturing to Las Vegas for the CES 2022 consumer electronics show, be sure to visit us at NS Nanotech Booth #8878 in the North Hall of the convention center. We will have pre-production units of our ShortWaveLight™ Emitter in the booth for manufacturers to examine. And we will position pre-production units of our far-UVC ShortWaveLight™ Purifiers at each corner of our booth to create a "Covid protection zone" where disinfection with far-UVC light will deactivate viruses that may be circulating in aerosols in the convention hall air. If you are a manufacturer developing new disinfection products that might benefit from the world’s smallest emitter of far-UVC light, you might also want to stop by the booth to talk about our Evaluation Kit Program. To set up a time to talk, contact Info@NSNanotech.com. Finally, take a sneak peek at our new video that will be running on a loop in our booth. It covers our products in addition to providing simple explanations of far-UVC efficacy and safety. Click here to view it on our YouTube channel. Toward Global Leadership in Solid-State Far-UVC Disinfection Those who have followed us closely over the past year know we are on a mission to establish NS Nanotech as the world leader in solid-state far-UVC disinfection technologies. Covid-19 is not only a clear and present danger, but also a harbinger of future potential viral pandemics. NS Nanotech will address this existential challenge with breakthrough far-UVC technologies to effectively neutralize pathogens that cause Covid and other diseases such as tuberculosis, influenza, and the common cold. With ongoing development of our solid-state far-UVC lamps and future nano-LEDs, we intend to help set new standards for device efficiency and performance that will enable an entirely new universe of UVC disinfection applications. See you at CES!
