Ambulance Disinfection

The ShortWaveLight 215 Emitter
Ambulance Hygiene Starts
With Far-UVC Light

Human-safe disinfection with short-wavelength far-UVC light is an ideal solution for continuously decontaminating the air in ambulances even while they are occupied. Frontline EMTs working in close quarters suffer from high rates of respiratory illnesses such as influenza, Covid-19, and RSV. While maintaining a sterile environment inside ambulances is essential, the time required for thorough cleaning between each use can be impractical. And chemical disinfectants fail to provide constant deactivation of airborne pathogens.

The Far-UVC
ShortWaveLight 215
Emitter

NS Nanotech’s 215-nanometer ShortWaveLight 215™ Emitter is ideally suited for close-quarters disinfection. Unlike traditional 254nm UVC light that can harm skin and eyes, far-UVC’s shorter 200-to-230nm wavelength range is approved for constant use around people. And because it is a solid-state semiconductor-based light source, it is small enough and cost-effective enough for practical deployment in ambulances.

By enabling continuous and effective inactivation of airborne pathogens, the ShortWaveLight 215 Emitter is ideal for use in spaces occupied by people. And its small form factor enables unobtrusive distribution of multiple emitters in confined spaces, reducing shadowing and line-of-sight effects.

Flooding the Zone with Far-UVC Disinfection

Our engineers have been taking careful measurements of ambulance interiors and finding appropriate placements for our far-UVC lamps. As a result, we are able to "flood the zone" with disinfection coverage. By saturating the breathing zones with disinfecting light in both the ambulance cab and bay, the lamps will lower levels of airborne viruses and other pathogens.

Calling All
Application Partners

We are actively seeking potential application development partners with experience developing, deploying, and servicing safety systems for ambulance operators.

We manufacturer our ShortWaveLight 215 Emitter as a light source for any applications requiring far-UVC disinfection in occupied spaces. Potential additional applications range from airplanes to school buses to small-van transport for senior citizens to any other environment where viruses threaten people's health.

We are searching for business partners in multiple markets who can finish development of innovative applications and deploy and support them successfully. If you have experience developing and marketing disinfection applications in this post-Covid era, be sure to get in touch

How Far-UVC ShortWaveLight Deactivates Pathogens

Our ShortWaveLight 215 Emitter is the world’s only solid-state semiconductor that produces far-UVC light at 215 nanometers. It is a new light source that opens the door to new exciting solutions from developers of air, surface, and water disinfection applications.

UVC light neutralizes viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens on surfaces and in air by disrupting their nuclear RNA to prevent them from reproducing. Far-UVC light, at wavelengths from 200-to-230nm, deactivates viruses in the air but doesn't penetrate the skin far enough to reach live cells in the skin or eyes. Therefore far-UVC photonic disinfection can be used in many locations where longer-wavelength 254nm UVC light cannot be used.
